VII MARITIME SYMMPOSIUM – SYMMTECHNAVAL´12

Call for papers
The Cuba division of the PAN-AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF NAVAL ENGINEERING, invite you to participate in the VII MARITIME SYMMPOSIUM – SYMMTECHNAVAL´12, that will cover activities of NAVAL ENGINEERING, MARITIME TRANSPORT AND PORT ENGINEERING. The symposium will be held in the City of the Havana, Cuba, in November of 2012.

The above technical activities will analyze details regarding to:
 Education
 Ship repair and ancillary industries
 Shipbuilding and Offshore
 Maritime Transport, Ports Structures and Hidrotécnics buildings.
 Tugs and salvage operations
 Ports Technology
 Fishing craft & technology
 Researches and Sea Sciences
 Standardization and business efficiency
 Caution against sea oil pollution and risks analysis

The VII Symposium will join the Engineers, Naval, Marine and Port Technicians of the most important shipyard, ship owners, forwarders, port terminals, classification societies, consultancy & engineering companies and universities, members or not of the IPEN, to present papers, in Spanish, English or Portuguese.

Organizing of Symmposium

Types of Requested papers.
Papers should approach relative topics to the following Technical Committees of the IPEN:
CT-1. - Education.
CT-2. -Ship repairs, Auxiliary Industries.
CT-3. - Shipbuilding and offshore means.
CT-4. – Maritime and Fluvial Transport. (Include Ports Technology)
CT-5. - Fishing technology.
CT-6. – Researches and Naval Sciences.
CT-7. - Standardization.

The papers will be selected basically according to the following approaches:
• Contribution to the Pan-American Marine Industry and in general to these branches of the Science.
• Wide general interest of topic.
• Presentation of new material, not presented in any other international congress.
• Adaptation to the objectives of the Institute.

Summaries
The summaries in English and in Spanish they should not exceed of 300 words, containing the main information about the essence of the work, and they should include: Names (s) of the (of those) author; Institution or company to which he (they) belongs (n); Address for contact, including electronic mail. The summaries must be sent until May 15, 2012, by e-mail to the Secretary of the Congress.

Papers
The papers should be sent no more than September 15, 2012, in:
a) CD of paper type letter, margin of 2.5 cm. In all sides, typewritten to 2 spaces in letter size 12 and of a maximum extension of 10 pages.
b) Document in file type Word of Microsoft, with 15 pages like maximum, including figures y/o pictures.
Copies of the papers in paper or in CD will be given to the participants of the symposium.

Symposium Fees
Delegates: $ 250.00 USD - IPEN Members $ 200.00 that include inscription, papers and entrance in the sessions, lunch during the symposium’s sessions, cocktails and certificate.

Ladies programme: Fee $ 100.00 USD that include open and final activities, cocktails and city tour.
